This racing kit allows you to mount the steering damper in a lateral position on the Yamaha R6.
Developed for use in the Supersport 600 class and used in the 2022 season by the GMT94 team in the WSSP600 championship, the kit consists of two aluminum alloy elements (Anticorodal), machined from solid with CNC machines and 3D technology, which are subsequently treated with black anodic oxidation.
The first element is mounted on the right side of the frame using the two existing holes; The second element is mounted on the lower triple clamp and supports the "body" of the steering damper.
Included in the kit screws and washers for assembly.
Already tested with the Toby (100mm travel) and Ohlins (120mm travel) steering dampers, with this kit you can use almost any steering damper on the market with travel between 100mm and 120mm (spacers may be required for correct alignment).
PLEASE NOTE: installation is only possible on competition bikes and with limited steering (RACE USE ONLY)
Why lateral?
The use of the side steering damper is a real "must" on racing bikes, because it allows for a faster, smoother and more progressive hydraulic response.
These advantages are given by the technically more correct lateral position.
With the same steering oscillation during the skidding, the shock absorber mounted in a lateral position has a greater useful stroke to counteract the sudden movement than the one mounted transversely.
